Indian Chicken Curry Recipe

Very nice spicy Indian chicken curry dish. Very easy to prepare and delicious!

-2 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast halves -2 teaspoons salt -½ cup cooking oil -1 ½ cups chopped onion -1 tablespoon minced garlic -1 ½ teaspoons minced fresh ginger root -1 tablespoon curry powder -1 teaspoon ground cumin -1 teaspoon ground turmeric -1 teaspoon ground coriander -1 teaspoon cayenne pepper -1 tablespoon water -1 (15 ounce) can crushed tomatoes -1 cup plain yogurt -1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro -1 teaspoon salt -½ cup water -1 teaspoon garam masala -1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro -1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

INSTRUCTION

Collect ingredients.Season chicken breasts with 2 tsp salt.

STEP  1 .

Heat oil in a large skillet over high heat; cook chicken in batches until browned on all sides. Reserve browned chicken breasts on a platter.

STEP 2.

On medium, cook onion, garlic, and ginger in skillet's remaining oil. Sauté onion 5–8 minutes until translucent. Add curry powder, cumin, turmeric, coriander, cayenne, and 1 tablespoon of water to the onion mixture and cook for 1 minute.

STEP 3.

Combine yogurt, tomatoes, 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro, and 1 teaspoon salt.Put chicken breast and plate juices back in skillet. Turn chicken to coat sauce with 1/2 cup water.

STEP 4.

Season chicken with garam masala and 1 tablespoon cilantro. Return chicken breast and plate juices to skillet. Add 1/2 cup water and cook, turning the chicken to coat with sauce.

Sprinkle chicken with garam masala and 1 tablespoon cilantro.
