Gluten-Free Cornbread Sausage Stuffing

Gluten-Free Cornbread Sausage Stuffing is a delicious twist on the classic Thanksgiving side dish, perfect for those with gluten sensitivities or celiac disease. This flavorful stuffing combines the rich taste of gluten-free cornbread with savory sausage and aromatic herbs, creating a dish that will be a hit at any holiday gathering.

– 1 batch of gluten-free cornbread (pre-baked and cubed) – 1 lb gluten-free sausage, casings removed – 1 large onion, finely chopped – 2 celery stalks, finely chopped – 3 cloves garlic, minced – 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped – 1 teaspoon dried sage – 1 teaspoon dried thyme – 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary – 1/2 teaspoon salt – 1/4 teaspoon black pepper – 2 cups gluten-free chicken or vegetable broth – 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish and set aside. Cube the pre-baked gluten-free cornbread into bite-sized pieces and spread them evenly in the prepared baking dish.

Step 1

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the gluten-free sausage, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks. Once the sausage is browned and cooked through, transfer it to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess grease.

Step 2

In the same skillet, sauté the chopped onion, celery, and minced garlic until softened and fragrant. Add the dried sage, thyme, rosemary, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, sautéed vegetables, and chopped parsley with the cubed cornbread. Pour the melted butter over the mixture and gently toss until everything is well combined. Gradually add the gluten-free chicken or vegetable broth, stirring until the stuffing reaches a moist but not overly wet consistency.

Step 4

Transfer the stuffing mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the stuffing is heated through. Once done, remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
