Gluten-free cheese scones are a delicious twist on the classic scone recipe, providing a flavorful and satisfying treat for those with gluten sensitivities or dietary restrictions. Packed with cheesy goodness and a perfect balance of savory flavors, these scones are not only gluten-free but also easy to make. Here's a simple recipe with five easy steps to create these delectable gluten-free cheese scones.

- 2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour – 1 tablespoon baking powder – 1/2 teaspoon baking soda – 1/2 teaspoon salt – 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed – 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese – 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt – 2 large egg – 1/4 cup fresh chives, chopped – 1/3 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy alternative)

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the gluten-free all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

Step 2

Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients and use a pastry cutter or your fingertips to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, eggs, and chopped chives. Add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture and gently combine. If the dough appears too dry, add milk gradually until the dough comes together.

Step 4

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently pat it into a 1-inch thick circle. Use a round cutter to cut out scones and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with a little milk for a golden finish. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the scones are golden brown and cooked through.
