Bacon-Wrapped Dates with Goat Cheese

Bacon-wrapped dates with goat cheese are a delightful appetizer that combines sweet, salty, and savory flavors in each bite. The natural sweetness of dates, the creamy richness of goat cheese, and the smoky, crispy goodness of bacon make this dish a crowd-pleaser for any occasion. Perfect for parties or as a sophisticated snack, these indulgent treats are surprisingly easy to prepare.

– Medjool dates (pitted) – Goat cheese (softened) – Bacon strips (halved) – Toothpick – Balsamic glaze (optional, for drizzling)

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This ensures that the bacon cooks evenly and becomes crispy while allowing the dates to caramelize.

Step 1

Take each Medjool date and carefully make a lengthwise incision to remove the pit. Once pitted, stuff each date with a small amount of softened goat cheese. The creaminess of the goat cheese will complement the sweetness of the dates.

Step 2

Take a halved bacon strip and tightly wrap it around each stuffed date, securing the bacon in place with a toothpick. Ensure that the bacon covers the entire date, as this will give the appetizer its irresistible combination of textures.

Step 3

Place the bacon-wrapped dates on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Arrange them with the seam side down to prevent the bacon from unraveling during cooking.

Step 4

Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 15-20 minutes or until the bacon becomes crispy and golden brown. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning. Once done, remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
