2 teams that bid for Arjun Tendulkar in IPL 2022 auction
Arjun was picked by the five-time IPL champions for the first time during the 2021 auction at his base price of Rs 20 lakh.
Arjun Tendulkar was bought by Mumbai Indians for Rs 30 lakh in the IPL 2022 mega auction in Bengaluru on Sunday.
The second team to bid on Arjun Tendulkar was the Gujarat Titans. They offered a bid of Rs 25 lakh. GT only placed one bid for Arjun and withdrew it in response to a subsequent bid from Mumbai Indians. Arjun spent thirty lakh rupees with MI.
Arjun Tendulkar's long wait to play for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) ended on April 16 when he was named in the playing XI for the match against Kolkata Knight Riders here.
In his four IPL 2023 games for MI, Arjun claimed three wickets at a best of 1/9 against the Titans. But after just four games, he was dropped off of the MI playing eleven and has since been benched in favor of Kumar Kartikeya and Akash Madhwal.
Mumbai Indians named Hardik Pandya as their new captain for IPL 2024, replacing Rohit Sharma in a move that has divided opinions in the cricket fraternity even as Mumbai called it a 'significant leadership transition'.
